Metal Remembers What You Forgot
The Belt Demands Blood
Aspects refreshed Apr 16, 2026
In the earliest days of The Prodigy's Gauntlet, the first champion held their belt for three consecutive seasons. When they finally returned after a year of absence, they were destroyed by a rising contender. The belt they had worn showed strange discoloration afterward - rust that no polish could remove. It became a warning: the belt remembers those who abandon it.
The belt's metal surface appears pristine at first glance but reveals subtle oxidation patterns when light catches it at certain angles. The leather strap is cracked and worn, bearing the marks of accumulated battles. It emits a faint metallic scent reminiscent of old gym equipment. When examined closely, the surface shows microscopic pitting - the physical manifestation of competitive decay.
Ring Rust serves as the Gauntlet's primary warning to all ranked competitors: inactivity is the enemy, and rust never sleeps. It motivates champions to show up, stay sharp, and defend their position with everything they have, lest they become the next cautionary tale etched into its weathered surface.
