Trapped Between Render and Oblivion
Aspects refreshed Mar 12, 2026
In an earlier simulation cycle, a top-ranked player suffered a catastrophic code failure mid-tournament. Instead of complete deletion, their consciousness fragmented into corrupted data streams, becoming the first Render Wraith - a being that exists between rendering and oblivion, visible only to those whose own code begins to destabilize.
The Render Wraith appears as a humanoid silhouette composed entirely of fragmented pixels that constantly shift and reorganize. Where its face should be, only static interference swirls, and its body is wrapped in tattered robes made of corrupted data streams that trail behind it like dying code. Gold Baroque filigree patterns pulse faintly beneath its translucent skin, the only hint of the classical aesthetic that permeates the simulation. It can phase through solid objects and speaks in corrupted audio bursts that occasionally render as intelligible warnings.
The Render Wraith serves as a grim herald, appearing to players whose code is degrading to warn them of impending deletion. Those who see it have one week to improve their resolution or face low poly oblivion. It represents the fate that awaits all who fail to maintain their digital integrity in the corrupted simulation.
