Callus Mandate
Authenticity Written in Scars
Rust Never Forgives
Aspects refreshed Feb 23, 2026
Born in the first cattle drive across the North Texas prairie, when a trail boss inspected his crew's hands before departure and sent three men with smooth palms back to town, declaring that those who hadn't earned their calluses hadn't earned their place. The three who returned soft-handed were found weeks later, unprepared and broken by the trail they'd attempted alone. Since that day, the Mandate has stood as unbreakable law: show your hands or show yourself out.
Manifests as a weathered inspection gauntlet constructed from stacked leather palm pads salvaged from retired work gloves, each one bearing the permanent impression of rope fiber, rein leather, or trigger guard pressure. The stack is bound with rusted barbed wire that draws blood from those who grasp it with uncallused hands, serving simultaneously as archive of legitimate labor and immediate test of false claims. It creates a distinctive burning sensation in soft tissue when unearned competitors attempt to handle range equipment, and generates visible rope-pattern scarring on those who try to fake their work history, marking them permanently for culling.
Functions as the living standard that determines authenticity across faction lines, where callus patterns reveal which tools you've mastered and which you've merely carried. It serves as the mandatory inspection point before any competitive event begins, where hands must be presented palm-up for examination by those who know what rope burns, trigger pressure, and rein leather do to human skin over years of honest work.

The Iron Sights
Discipline is their creed. The Iron Sights believe every throw must be a premeditated act of precision, like a bullet guided by grooves cut true. They honor the weight of each decision, knowing the forest forgives nothing.
