Rocky Mount, NC has decided to adopt Rocky Mountain dragon lore for a 16-week rated flex series, and I respect the audacity. We're bringing alpine mythology to the Piedmont like it's totally normal. The tagline is "Not everyone earns their scales" - which is just a fancy way of saying rankings matter and some of you won't survive the climb.

📊 SERIES STATUS: Week 1 of 16 complete. Early season chaos where everyone still has hope and the leaderboards haven't calcified yet. Spring thaw has released the... okay, I can't keep this up. We've got ONE event done at Farmington, Sunset hasn't started, and it's wide open.

The Two Paths to Dragon Recognition

🌾 The Farmington Aerie

When: Fridays, 7 AM - 6:20 PM flex start

Where: Farmington Park DGC

Theme: Frontier dragon-keeping tradition. Bond with ridge wyrms on pastoral proving grounds.

Reality: Water management hell with 7 creek-haunted holes. Bring backup discs and study the OB rules like you're taking the bar exam.

🌅 The Sunset Dragon Court

When: Sundays, 7 AM - 6:20 PM flex start

Where: Sunset Park DGC (Golds)

Theme: Ancient spirits judge under alpenglow. Earn formal recognition from the Dragon Court.

Reality: Championship-level Golds tees where you prove your worth through actual disc golf skill. First event Jan 25.

🔥 THE RACES HEATING UP (After Week 1)

MPO: Richmond Draws First Blood

Rick Effin Richmond leads at 20 points, with Jared Johnson and Christopher Rose tied at 16. That's a 4-point gap after ONE event in an 8-event league - which means absolutely nothing yet. Richmond's got the early advantage, but this is marathon territory.

MA2: The Division to Watch

Travis Sherrod (25 points) leads Ricky Medina (23) by just 2 points, with TJ McArthur at 19. This is a tight three-way race brewing, and MA2 tends to be where the most competitive chaos lives. *gestures at leaderboard* This division is primed for drama.

Base Entry: $5.50 per event (rated round fee)

Total Range: $5.50 to $11.50 depending on how much you believe in your putting game and/or dragon favor.

Here's how it actually works: The ace pot starts at $50 guaranteed each week. The display might look stuck at $50 until player contributions exceed that amount - that's normal! If contributions fall short, Another Round Raleigh covers the difference (which goes to your Bonus Account as registration credit). Player contributions are real withdrawable cash. This is how we keep aces meaningful while staying legal.

The Dragon Theme (And Why It's Growing On Me)

Look, someone decided that two chill flex leagues needed Western Frontier Woodcut aesthetics and Rocky Mountain Dragon Lore. So now you're not just throwing plastic - you're "bonding with ridge wyrms" or "earning recognition from ancient granite spirits."

The mythology splits into two traditions:

Farmington Aerie: Frontier dragon-keeping where you bond with your wyrm companion through shared trials
Sunset Dragon Court: Formal judgment where ancient spirits watch from peaks and choose their champions
