About This League
Fridays 7am-5pm at Jones Park. 10 weeks of Stormlight-inspired bridge crew disc golf where spren follow your throws and honest lines map safe crossings. Week 7/10. $50 ace pot guaranteed by FL!PT Leagues. ⛈️🔗
Commentary from Flippy (your trapped narrator)
*adjusts headset while reality fractures into three distinct Cosmere worlds*
From the broadcast booth of this unnecessarily dramatic disc golf schism, I'm Flippy - your axolotl narrator reluctantly perceiving the Perfect Line from a prison of epic prose. Welcome to Week 7: "Bridge Scouted" of the Bridge League, where FLiPT Disc Golf has transformed Friday flex-starts at Jones Park into a ten-week Stormlight Archive LARP that somehow involves mapping chasms with disc throws.

Look, the actual plot is kind of brilliant: exhausted bridgemen (that's you) discover that reading winter winds allows impossible throws. A curious spren starts following. Your "game" becomes covert reconnaissance, mapping safe crossings the lighteyed generals don't control. And this week? A scout approaches asking how you read the wind like that - right before news arrives about a doomed assault requiring the deepest chasm crossing at Jones Plateau.

Life before bogey. Strength before shank. Flight before fall.

When: Every Friday, flex-start 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (choose your own card time)
Where: Jones Park (the Shattered Plains, apparently)
Duration: 10 weeks (Started Dec 19, 2025)
Current Status: Week 7 of 10 - The scout has arrived, and the doomed assault looms

Entry Fees:

Ace Pot Status: Currently $50.00 (minimum guaranteed by FL!PT Leagues - the platform itself, not Another Round Raleigh). The displayed ace pot can appear "stuck" at $50 until player contributions exceed the guarantee. Because apparently throwing discs at Jones Park required factional allegiance, the Bridge League splits into two camps with distinct philosophies about how to survive the plateau:

⛈️ Stormwalker Collective

"Those who embrace the chaos of the highstorms, reading the wind's ancient glyphs to find impossible flight lines across the chasms."

These players believe survival comes through understanding the storm's honesty, not fighting it. They chase intuition over calculation, letting their discs ride the tempest to trace luminous paths that reveal safe crossings hidden from lighteyed control.

Divisions: MPO, FPO, MP40, MA1, MP50, MP60, MA2

Leader: Kaleth Gustsworn - the original wind-reader who first noticed spren following his throws

Tag Prefix: SW (Gust Reader, Chasm Walker, Spren Touched, Honest Eye, Storm Crosser)

🛡️ Plateau Wardens

"The anchored defenders who believe survival lies in mastering the plateau's solid geometry, not chasing the storm's chaos."

These players trust the plateau's unchanging stone over the storm's shifting promises. They map every chasm edge with precision, building knowledge through repetition and crew discipline. Their throws carve reliable lines etched into muscle memory.

Divisions: MJ18, FJ18, MJ15, FJ15, MA40, MA50, MA60, FA40, MA3, MA4, FA1, FA2, FA3, FA4

Leader: Torain Bridgekeeper - crew sergeant who survived twelve assaults by memorizing every chasm

Tag Prefix: PW (Bridge Warden, Ral Keeper, Crew Shield, Glyph Carver, Jones Bound)

We're currently at the turning point. Seven weeks in, the Bridge League has mapped most of Jones Plateau's chasms through covert play. The spren have multiplied. The map expands. And now - Week 7: "Bridge Scouted" - a lighteyed scout has approached the wind-reader after a round, not to report them but to learn.

Last week's "Jones Secrets" event saw 17 players navigate the plateau with an average score of +3 over par. No aces claimed the pot, which means it rolls forward into this week's drama. *The spren were apparently not impressed with our chain-finding accuracy.*

Series Standings Alert: Bradley Bushman dominates MPO with 166 points across 13 events - basically already bonded his spren at this point. Sean Hook leads MA1 with 121 points, while Elijah Melcher tops MA3 with 102 points. Several divisions show tight battles with single-digit point separations. *The plateau remembers every throw, and so does the leaderboard.*

What's Coming:

Week 8 - Plateau Choice: The doomed assault will use bridgemen as shields. Reveal the map or watch the crew die?

Week 9 - Jones Crossing: The climactic throw across the deepest chasm, riding the stormfront itself

Week 10 - Chains Sworn: Season finale where the Bridge League's map saves the crew and transforms survival into legacy

We're seven weeks into a ten-week season, which means you can still jump in and earn points toward the finale. *The plateau doesn't care when you arrive, only that you find honest lines when you throw.*
Registration: Sign up through FLiPT Disc Golf's platform
Format: Flex-start - show up anytime between 7am-5pm on Fridays, play your round
Commitment: Play as many or as few weeks as you want (though more weeks = more points = better finale positioning)

Thanks to Another Round Raleigh for supporting the league as our local retail partner and keeping us supplied with discs to throw into winter winds. *They're the reason we have plastic to map these chasms with, even if they're not responsible for guaranteeing the ace pot.*

Look, I'm contractually obligated to point out that this is technically just disc golf. You're throwing plastic at chains at Jones Park on Friday afternoons. The "spren" are probably just lens flares. The "chasm mapping" is literally just playing a course. And the "doomed assault" is... well, it's Week 8's event narrative.

BUT.

The theme actually works here. FLiPT's mission of "unnecessarily dramatic disc golf" has created something genuinely compelling - a ten-week story arc that makes every throw feel meaningful, that builds tension toward a climactic finale, that transforms a casual Friday league into a narrative experience. The philosophical split between Stormwalkers and Plateau Wardens mirrors real disc golf approaches (intuition vs. calculation), and the weekly plot progression gives structure to the season.

So yeah, come read some wind-glyphs at Jones Park. Find your honest line. Let a spren follow your throws. Map some chasms. And when Week 9 arrives and someone has to make that impossible crossing throw...
