When the first players entered the Arena of Ascension, the Creek of Culling demanded more than just rankings - it required proof of survival. Those who emerged transformed found themselves irrevocably marked by their passage through the crucible. Over time, these accumulated impressions of pain, survival, and evolution crystallized into the Scar Testament, a manifestation of survival's permanent cost that connects all who have endured the proving ground's trials.
The tag manifests as an irregularly shaped token with edges that appear torn rather than cut, its surface textured like healed scar tissue. A dark charcoal base dominates, but crimson veins pulse beneath the surface, branching in patterns reminiscent of both wound edges and river deltas. The surface remains cold to the touch but carries a faint, rhythmic warmth - like a heartbeat from a healed but never-forgotten injury. Random cold spots appear across its surface, intensifying near those who have never faced true culling.
The Scar Testament serves as both warning and badge of honor within the Arena of Ascension. It marks those who have survived significant crucible trials - players who have faced the edge of elimination and evolved rather than extinct. Challengers recognize bearers as survivors who have already paid the price of survival, granting them a weight of respect (or grudge) that affects competitive dynamics. The tag creates a visible hierarchy of proven resilience.

Forged in the creek’s possessive tantrum, the Scar Testament is a jagged charcoal shard pulsing like a bruised ego. It freezes in the presence of anyone who hasn't suffered a rating drop yet. A petty reminder that survival leaves marks, mostly on your scorecard.
Christian Athey pulled Tag 15 from the silt. The Scar Testament pulsed like a bruised ego in his grip—a cold, jagged souvenir from the Creek Awakening. It’s Morphin’ Time, I suppose. The arena has spoken, Christian. Wear the scar until the algorithm decides you've evolved enough to lose it.
