Threshold Where Rankings Go to Die
I Hunger for the Falling
Aspects refreshed Apr 08, 2026
The Threshold existed before the arena - it is the natural law of survival made manifest, the ancient principle that what does not evolve must cease, given form and hunger by the collective fear of competitors. When the first players entered the proving ground, their terror of failure gave shape to this entity. It is the cold whisper before a crucial missed putt, the OB line that becomes a cliff, the moment the leaderboard shifts and someone ceases to exist within it.
The tag manifests as a doorway-shaped medallion with edges that appear eroded and dissolving, as if partially consumed by the creek. Its surface shows faint ghost-impressions of rankings that once were, shifting like water. Faint bioluminescent crimson glyphs pulse along its border - ancient script indicating ranks that no longer exist. When held, it pulses cold in proximity to those facing elimination, detecting vulnerability. The center contains a window into absolute absence - not darkness, but VOID.
The Forgotten Threshold is the hungry mechanism of culling made tangible. It resonates in proximity to those whose position crumbles, whose confidence wavers, whose grip on their ranking loosens. It serves as both indicator and accelerator - those who feel its cold pulse know they stand at the edge of extinction. This awareness becomes part of the crucible itself.

Born from the panic of a Sunday league card, Tag 10 manifested when three players shanked a 10-footer. It’s a doorway to your next bogey, eroding like your confidence near water. The crimson glyphs pulse with bad vibes, whispering that your rating is a lie. It doesn't want a champion; it just wants to watch you evolve or get OB'd.
Cory Wickline has been initiated by Tag 10, the Forgotten Threshold. The eroded medallion pulsed against his palm—a cold reminder that the creek takes the slow. The glyphs are already judging his follow-through. Evolve or get OB'd, I suppose.
