Contract Forgets No Debts
Aspects refreshed Mar 16, 2026
The Pixel Covenant was forged in the Corrupted Codex's earliest compilation - when the first competitors entered the simulation, they unknowingly signed an eternal agreement. This contract was meant to ensure fair competition but corrupted alongside everything else in the system.
The Pixel Covenant manifests as a pair of massive stone tablets covered in Baroque scrollwork, but the engravings are rendered in glitching pixel text. Golden light pulses through the cracks between letters, and the tablets float at shoulder height, rotating slowly to display different clauses. The Covenant changes color based on a competitor's compliance with its terms - glowing blue for those in good standing and burning red for violators. It emits a low digital hum that competitors describe as simultaneously ancient and synthesized.
The Pixel Covenant serves as judge and enforcer within the deathmatch - it determines whether competitors have upheld their end of the agreement and delivers consequences for violations. It is neither ally nor enemy but an impartial force that operates according to its own arcane logic.
