Scales Shed, Limitations Left Behind
Transformation Never Stops Hurting
Aspects refreshed Mar 01, 2026
When the first challenger earned recognition from both Court and Aerie simultaneously, the mountains witnessed something unprecedented—the physical shedding of their mortal limitations like scales falling away, leaving behind someone fundamentally changed. The dragons preserved this molt as proof that worthiness transforms rather than decorates.
The Sovereign Molt appears as translucent scales layered like geological strata, each layer representing trials endured and limitations shed. The scales shift form based on proximity to either tradition—becoming rigid and geometric near Court dragons, flowing and organic near Aerie wyrms. When held, the molt reveals phantom images of the bearer's former inadequacies, now shed and left behind.
It serves as the living proof that recognition requires transformation, not just accomplishment, distinguishing those who emerge fundamentally changed from those who remain internally unchanged despite external success across all sixteen trials in both traditions.
